POEM 3rd Nursing Workshop: Toward Excellence in Pediatric Oncology Nursing Practice

 

Program Overview

The POEM third Nursing Workshop offers pediatric hematology and oncology topics in a way that allows for educational capacity building at local institutions across the region.

 

Target Audience

  1. Registered nurses from POEM participating countries who are involved with the care of pediatric oncology patients.
  2. Senior and junior nurses and nurse educators interested in running similar programs in their own countries and institutions are encouraged to attend.

 

Date and Platform

​This activity will be held virtually via WebEx on March 19 and 20, 2022 from 12 pm to 4 pm GMT.

 

Learning Outcomes

This program aims to:

  1. Enhance the knowledge of pediatric oncology registered nurses about principles of chemotherapy, guidelines for pharmacotherapy, side effects management, COVID-19 implications in practice pain, and palliative care.
  2. Registered nurses will be able to explore and update their knowledge on evidence- based practice, quality improvement measurement and teaching strategies.

Knowledge acquisition shall be self-reported by completing a survey that confirms knowledge gain using a 4-point Likert scale.

 

​Requirements for the successful completion of the program

  1. Attendance for all sessions in the program outline
  2. Completion of the online evaluation survey for all sessions

Accreditation

Participants who successfully complete the program will receive 6.3 by CPDC who is responsible to ensure adherence to ANCC criteria.
