POEM 3rd Nursing Workshop: Toward Excellence in Pediatric Oncology Nursing Practice
Program Overview
The POEM third Nursing Workshop offers pediatric hematology and oncology topics in a way that allows for educational capacity building at local institutions across the region.
Target Audience
- Registered nurses from POEM participating countries who are involved with the care of pediatric oncology patients.
- Senior and junior nurses and nurse educators interested in running similar programs in their own countries and institutions are encouraged to attend.
Date and Platform
​This activity will be held virtually via WebEx on March 19 and 20, 2022 from 12 pm to 4 pm GMT.
Learning Outcomes
This program aims to:
- Enhance the knowledge of pediatric oncology registered nurses about principles of chemotherapy, guidelines for pharmacotherapy, side effects management, COVID-19 implications in practice pain, and palliative care.
- Registered nurses will be able to explore and update their knowledge on evidence- based practice, quality improvement measurement and teaching strategies.
Knowledge acquisition shall be self-reported by completing a survey that confirms knowledge gain using a 4-point Likert scale.

- Attendance for all sessions in the program outline
- Completion of the online evaluation survey for all sessions

Accreditation
Participants who successfully complete the program will receive 6.3 by CPDC who is responsible to ensure adherence to ANCC criteria.
